Some Great Advice From My Mother!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1.Try everything twice. On Madams tombstone (of Whelan's and Madam) she said she wanted this epitaph: Tried everything twice...loved it both times!
2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down. (Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches)
3. Keep learning: Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil’s workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!
4. Enjoy the simple things.

Olympic Moments

Submitted by wstadnik on Thu, 08/07/2008 - 2:10pm. in

Hi, I am Bill Stadnik from Louisville, KY...hometown of Muhammed Ali. I can remember when the then, young Cassius Clay, won the 1960 light heavyweight Olympic Gold Medal. And I also recall in 1996 when he showed the signs of Parkinsons Disease as he lit the Olympic Flame in Atlanta. After meeting him recently, I was glad to see the "flame" or spirit still burning in his eyes.

171 Small Steps to Greater Fitness

Submitted by CoachTim on Mon, 11/05/2007 - 9:39pm. in

I am always on the lookout for simple messages that people can us to improve their lives.  Sometimes I think that people can get caught up in high profile sports or the exploits from our own youth and think that wellness and fitness can only be achieved by a regimented routine.  Granted, many do need to make some serious changes to right a sinking ship.  But for most, just a few small steps taken in our days lives can make a huge difference in feeling GREAT versus feeling...well, just normal.

The Internet is one of the best tools available for exercisers to track your progress and accountability to your exercise program.  With websites like http://www.ipodfitnesscenter.com/ you can track your exercise using an ipod nano and nike plus sports kit and access to the Internet. It's free, it's easy and it's a great way to hold yourself accountable.
