The Human Race 10K

I did my first 10K today. I participated in the Nike+ Human Race 10K. Races were held all around the world. If you weren’t in a city that was hosting a race, you could run by yourself and download the run. I have had this race on my list of races for 2008, but decided yesterday that I wasn’t going to participate. Well to my surprise when I woke up this morning, I decided to give it a try. I didn’t run the whole time, but can say that I did run 75% of the 10K.

Couch 2 5K

I started my 9 Week Couch 2 5K program last night. I found a podcast that can be downloaded in iTunes. It's great, it tells you when to walk and when to run. I was a little nervous at first, wasn't sure I was ready to run yet, but the 5K I want to enter is fast approaching. I should finish the program a few days before the big day (July 5, 2008). To my surprise, it went really well, it is just the right pace for someone that is beginning a running program. I will keep everyone posted as to my progress over the next 9 weeks.

I DID IT!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I ran 1 mile without stopping.  I am so proud of myself.  I haven't done that in so many years.  I am going to be doing 1 mile of running until I feel comfortable, then on to my next goal of running 2 miles without stopping.  Thanks to IPOD Fitness Center and Nike+ for keeping me motivated.Smile

Practice Makes Perfect

I am so excited, I had to share this great news.  I am going on my 3rd week using the Nike+ and IPOD Fitness Center and have only been walking for my workouts.  I decided to try running.  I began by running the straight aways and walking the curves of the track.  I caught myself getting into the zone, and ended up running 2 laps without stopping.  I was so proud of myself.  Well, with the December Dash coming up this Saturday, last night I decided to run as much as I could during my workout.  I actually did 4 laps 1/2 mile without stopping.  This might not sound like alot, but to me it

This site is very motivational

Hi, I just joined the site a couple days ago, so I am still finding my way around.  What I love about this site is that you can download your information right from your IPOD.  I don't have the Nike+ yet, but plan to get one real soon.  I can't wait to see my progress.  I have had a dream for years of running a Marathon, however, my weight and lack of motivation has kept me from that dream.
