What is it that the FDA says there is NO SAFE level for human consumption?....The answer is "trans fats". From the 4/06 New England Journal of Medicine....A 2% increase in energy intake from trans fatty acids was associated with a 23% increase in the incidence of coronary heart disease". Dietary trans fats lower the ability of blood vessels to dialate(less elasticity can result in hypertension) and they increase HDL (bad cholesterol). Trans fats are found in many baked goods, processed foods and fast foods (esp. fried fast foods).

It is sooooo cool to hear about so many others of you who have twims. It has truly been a double blessing. From the beginning it was apparent how we have been given a personality...oh, yes, we do some molding as parents, but these are little individuals! My twins are like night and day....how about you all's?

What season is it anyway?

Well, this past week in Northern Virginia it has been Winter, Summer, Spring and Fall... very interesting! It looks like we are finally moving into a real Spring by the end of this week.

For those trying to fight off colds, don't forget about your Probiotics. If you haven't taken them before, then take 1 daily for 90 days to rebuild the good bacteria in your gut. (These good bacteria keep the "bad guys" in check.) After the 90 days, start up on the Probiotics at the 1st sign of illness.

It' s sometimes easy to forget how wonderfully we have been made. What we do with our bodies and where we allow our thoughts to concentrate affect our "stress" levels. As those of us taking Vitalife know, by countering the effects of various forms of stress, we improve our immune systems and overall health. Exercise also is an important part of the process and so I'd like to say to all those beginning exercise routines....hang in there, hold on for all those kudos to come...way to go!
