Hi! My name is Cindy Winkenwerder " wink" and I live in Shiner, Texas. My favorite Olympic Summer Sport is gymnastics. The most memorable Olympic moment was in 1984, the first American woman, Mary Lou Retton, won an Olympic gold metal for the all-around competition in gymnastics. Other memorable moments were in Swimming with Mark Spitz 9-1-1 and Diving with Greg Louganis 4-1-0. The Summer Olympics have some of my favorite sports.

I found my buddy Lisa Terpin and she had a surprise for me. She told me she was expecting a baby. She has been a champ and is so gracious when I bug her with PM. I know Lisa, John, and John Stanley are so excited about their soon to be little bundle of joy.
Lisa is a wonderful buddy and I am blessed to get to know her.

In Sickness and In Health

Submitted by wink on Mon, 11/12/2007 - 11:54pm.

This is the first Parti that has been a challenge for me.  I have walked in sickness and in health, in darkness and in light.  I am a morning walker, but babysitting grandchildren, going to health fairs, children home, sports playoffs, getting my walk in has been a challenge.

Challenge or not I walk.  This is the first exercise program that has kept me motivated.  I love the interaction, competition, how well I feel when I walk and how much better my clothes fit.

Thank you ipod fitness center for doing this for me.

Your Word

To my North/West Team,

I want to add some words of encouragement, but at the moment all I feel is frustration.  All we need is 23 out of 30 to get our 75%.  Please remember your commitment to the team (together everyone achieves more).  Everyone on the team made a commitment to walk/run, so dust off your shoes and fulfill your commitment.  10 minutes walking around the house (if you don't have time for a good workout) helps the team.  Let's do our part and we all win.  Be that teammate who wants his/her picture in the exercised today box.

Dolls,

Soon we will hit 1000 miles.  Let one of these days be 100%.  You have done so well, I know we can do this one last task in our Parti.  If the day is hectic, releave that stress with a 10 minute walk for you and the team.

Go Dolls!!!

Dolls,

My walk will be a little later today.  I love getting out early in the morning, but thunderstorms delayed my walk.  I have been walking been showers and it will be no different today.  I might have to resort to the Shiner Fitness Center and the ole dependable treadmill.  Dolls be sure and check your PM important info later today.  Six more days before victory be sure and get in your daily walk/run.  I know it has made a world of difference in my appearance and health.  Be chatting soon.

Nike plus Sport Kit Carrying Case

Guys and Dolls,

When I ordered my new shoes I also ordered a Nike plus Carrying Case.  It is wonderful for taking your Nike plus Ipod along with you when you have to go on those business trips, vacations, reunions, etc., and you are participating in a Parti. Have everything you need stored in a safe case.  It is made of a hard covered plastic shell and the inside has a place for your Ipod, links, earbuds,  USB cord, wall charger and place for ID or your IFC cards.  Great prize for the next Parti.

Tread Wear

Be sure and check your shoes for wear.  I was putting a lot of miles on my shoes and thought I need to order a new pair.  I never expected the bottom of my shoes to be so badly worn.  I could have had a blow out.Surprised  I walk on a track 3 days a week and a limestone trail 4 days, I think the limestone was the culprit.  Check out the picture!

Happy walking/running,

Nike Award

Submitted by wink on Thu, 04/26/2007 - 10:52am.

When I logged in yesterday I had a surprise award from Nike.  It was an Award for logging 100 miles in runs.  It's really great.  It gives you the date you have accomplished the task, number of runs, and your pace.  Today I had a encouraging message that I was sure to hit the 500 mile mark.  And with this new blog I have attached a document.

Time and Money

Submitted by wink on Tue, 04/03/2007 - 2:16pm.

The IRS took my time and my money.  I waited in line for an hour. Then received a number and waited another two and a half hours before I was called into the small cubicle.  It took the representative only 10 minutes to process my form.  We received a survey form to rate their performance.  One question they had on the form was: HOW LONG DID YOU EXPECT TO WAIT PRIOR TO RECEIVING SERVICE TODAY? MY CHOICES 1. less than 5 minutes 2. 6-15 minutes 3. 16-30 minutes 4. 31-60 minutes 5. over 60 minutes   Next question:  HOW LONG DID YOU HAVE TO WAIT TO RECEIVE SERVICE TODAY?

No Music

Submitted by wink on Fri, 03/23/2007 - 10:57am.

Today I walked without music to keep me going what a drag.  I programmed my Ipod as usual, but it would not play my songs.  I ended my first walk to see if I made the wrong choice in programming.  No music again, has anyone had this problem with their Ipod????? I would receive all my stats as I walked. Is there something I turned off by mistake?  I justed checked my Ipod and all my songs are gone!  What did I do???  How did they get erased?

Children and Vitalife

Submitted by wink on Fri, 03/16/2007 - 10:32am.

I have heard a few parents talk about giving their children Vitalife.  I have suggested it to my Son because Ty is not sleeping well at night.  How much do you give a child five years old and what is the best time of day???

Thanks,

Cindy
