This is from a recent morning devotional. It has extra meaning for the "Leapsters". I hope you enjoy it.

Held By His Hands
The God Who Won’t Let you Fall
Max Lucado: A Gentle Thunder : Hearing God Through the Storm.

I would like to confess a fall. I’ve kept it secret long enough. I can’t deny the stumble; nor can I dismiss the truth. I fell. There were witnesses to my slip. They can tell you. Graciously, they have told no one. Out of concern for my reputation, they kept the event a secret. But it has been a secret long enough. The time has come for my mistake to be shared.

From: What Time Is It? You Mean Now?

Around World Series time, the sun in left field at Yankee Stadium would get awful tough. It wasn't so bad during the season, but in October it would just hang there in your eyes when you were trying to follow a fly ball. And what was true for the sun field in the Bronx is also true for everybody when it comes to their bodies and their health: You can get old pretty young if you don't take care of yourself.

Memory Loss:

Memory Loss: It is always Age-Related - Fact or Fiction?

New research shows that stress and depression may cause some forms of memory loss. The research is important because it suggests that not all memory loss is an inevitable part of aging.

I am attaching a document that contains the original text of "The Paradoxical Commandments" on the first page [included below, also], with the story of their origin [and misquoting history] on the following pages.  I hope you enjoy the content.

How I Logged the Longest Run

Submitted by parkerjw on Sat, 05/12/2007 - 9:02pm.

Just turn on your ipod and walk through a theme park.  I paused when we were in line and seated for rest.  I just resumed every time we started again.  We arrived at 11:45 and left the park at 10:00 [long day].  Comment of scale:  We took the bus from Epcot back to the resort where we parked our car.  I was beat and had stowed my ipod, but Marilyn started a new session then.  She logged a 1.23 mile walk between the bus stop and our car [Big resort!].

Spirit of the Suwannee Review

Submitted by parkerjw on Tue, 05/01/2007 - 12:50am.

This weekend, Marilyn and I visited our property near Thomasville Georgia.  On the way, I called and got permission to visit the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park, so we could view our accommodations for the Vitalife gathering.  Marilyn wanted to know what to expect.  We were quite impressed.  There are pictures posted in the gallery.  The cabin was a one bedroom apartment!  It has a queen bed, a full kitchen, dinette, living room with a couch-bed, and a great deck [yes, there was a TV].   Drop by unit J1 for hospitality.  Across an event field from our area, is the Tree-house.  I

Marilyn Parker Walks to Second Place in 5K

Submitted by parkerjw on Sat, 03/17/2007 - 12:19pm.

Marilyn entered the Run For Your Life 5K today at our church.  She won second place for her age group.  Her time was 43 minutes.  I added the three pictures of her to my gallery.  I am very proud of her!  I told you she was my best feature.

Marilyn's technical support team was only partially successful.  I activated the Ipod and created several playlists to add her music.  She had her choice of music to walk with.  I could not get the Nike+ to find the sensor.  I only tried 45 times; there must be another secret, or the unit is not working.  I am open to suggestions.

The Wisdom of Napoleon Hill

Submitted by parkerjw on Mon, 03/12/2007 - 10:05pm.

I made up this document from an appendix in a Napoleon Hill book.  I have to look in a box in the garage, be right back.  I think it was Think and Grow Rich Action Pack.  It was not in the garage.  But I got an idea while I was out there looking in my boxes of books collected over 14 years of networking.  Would it be a distraction to have a virtual team library?  I cannot read but one at a time, so why not let someone else have a chance.  I am convicted by having over 150 books about personal development, leadership, and success.

Powell On Leadership [Words of Encouragement]

Submitted by parkerjw on Tue, 03/06/2007 - 1:22am.

This is the presentation that Colin Powell makes available to the participants when he speaks on leadership.  I made this separate blog entry since it could not be attached [as a Power Point Slide Show] as a comment to Party-Patty's "Words of Encouragement" Blog.

Fossils, You feel young by comparison

Submitted by parkerjw on Fri, 03/02/2007 - 9:29pm.

I often wear a fossil around my neck on a chain as a "bling".  People will stop me to comment on it and I have the opportunity to witness or even ask them if they ever feel stressed.  Networking secret:  People want to be listened to, not talked to.  Listen twice, talk once.

You do need to know the background facts, so you can tell a concise story.  Remember, we are trying to get them to talk to us, so they can be impressed at our listening skills.

The attached fossil article is still interesting.  Enjoy.

Stress article [This is a demonstration of using the file attachments function]

Submitted by parkerjw on Thu, 03/01/2007 - 10:08pm.

I have articles prepared as Word documents.  This experiment is an attempt to share them with the team.  I attached two articles: Stress Disrupts Brain Function.doc; and, principle vs principal.doc.  Enjoy them.  Let's see how it looks.

The Public Life of the Leader

Submitted by parkerjw on Wed, 02/28/2007 - 12:07am.

Leadership has become a "hot" topic in the church and in commerce. Why is so much being said about leadership these days?
