Favorite Summer Olympic Highlights

Submitted by MurielPowell on Thu, 08/07/2008 - 11:24pm.

I am Muriel Powell. I live in Asheville in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina with the love of my life, Win. Gymnastics is the favorite part of the summer olympics for me. Nadia Comaneci amazed me with her 10.0 on the uneven bars at the 1976 olympics in Montreal. This was the first time a perfect 10.0 was awarded for the uneven bars. This performance also inspired Mary Lou Retton whose most memorable performance was at the 1984 olympics in Los Angeles. Mary Lou and Romanian, Ecaterina Szabo, were in a tightly fought competition for the gold medal.

My Buddy Roxanne

Roxanne and I have many things in common. We both appreciate the excellence of the VitaLife fitness center and thoroughly enjoy the monthly challenges that help keep us on track health-wise and help us get to know community members better. Roxanne likes the color blue, enjoys living in the country in the panhandle of FL. where she takes long country walks with her son's dogs two or more times per week. Roxanne likes to follow deer tracks and eat blackberries on these walks. Roxanne's son and granddaughter mean the world to her and she enjoys the company of her cat.

The joy of the ipodfitnesscenter.

Win and I believe in healthy living but it has taken the ipodfitnesscenter and its challenges to raise our belief to one of DAILY commitment.  I am a background kind of person so writing blogs and testimonials is not my cup of tea at all.  I do, however, really enjoy reading what others have to say!  So, visiting the site each day I feel like I am getting to know many of you better and better.  Thank you for a wonderful community.
